How to make a subdomain visible on Google?

Add your subdomain to Google Search Console to make sure it is visible on Google.

  1. Go to Google Search Console and log in to your Google Account;
  2. If you have used Google Search Console before, click on the domain dropdown menu in the top-left corner and select "Add property";
  3. Enter your subdomain name in "URL prefix" option (example: https://example.myhost.nz);
  4. Click "Continue";
  5. In "Other verification methods" section, select "HTML tag" option;
  6. Copy the provided HTML tag and add it to your website by following our "How to add HTML Meta tags?" FAQ article;
  7. After adding HTML tag in website builder, click "Verify" in Google Search Console;
  8. Once you have added the subdomain, go to "Sitemaps" page in Google Search Console;
  9. In the "Add a new sitemap" section, add "sitemap.xml" to your subdomain and click "Submit" (example: https://example.myhost.nz/sitemap.xml).

Once you have completed all steps, the subdomain and its sitemap are added to the Google Search Console. Depending on the website size, it may take a little while before the subdomain becomes visible in Google search results.
